the forbidden poem
Once in a while
You go back
to the edge
at the cliff heights
Look around and see
Poking through your back
were your own blades
Knocking at your throat
were your own hands
You stop to wonder
How evil was that alive
coming in disguise of loss
How treacherous were those fights
staying in disguise of smiles:
You stop to wonder
and look around in dark
Drying up the oceans
was your own flickering light
Because they never stayed
so you never asked
They never healed
so you never fought
Their barren lands and oasis
When the truth became prison
you were ready to fall
Once in a while
You go back
Stop and wonder
How honest was that home
which ashed it's own garden.
